Summary: Compare Your Loans is an offer comparison and referral platform — not a lender. We collect information you provide to match you with third-party funders. We do not sell your data to marketers. We do share data with funders and partners you are matched with. Please read this policy in full.

1. Who We Are

Compare Your Loans ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website located at compareyourloans.com. We are an independent offer comparison and referral service. We are not a bank, lender, broker, or financial advisor. Our platform allows consumers to compare funding products offered by third-party partners and, where applicable, submit inquiries that are forwarded to those partners.

By using our website, you agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Personal identifiers: full name, date of birth, email address, phone number, home address
  • Financial information: income, employment status, credit score range, funding amount requested, funding purpose
  • Social Security Number (SSN) or ITIN — only if required by a funder you select and only transmitted to that funder via encrypted channels
  • Any other information you voluntarily submit through forms on our site

Information collected automatically:

  • IP address and approximate geographic location
  • Browser type and version, operating system, device type
  • Pages visited, time spent, referring URLs, click activity
  • Cookie identifiers and similar tracking data (see Section 5)

Information from third parties:

  • Credit bureaus or soft-pull credit data providers, where you have consented
  • Identity verification services
  • Advertising and analytics partners who may provide aggregated or pseudonymized audience data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Offer matching: To match you with funding partners whose products may suit your stated needs and qualifications
  • Communication: To contact you regarding your inquiry, including by email, phone, or SMS where you have consented
  • Site improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve the functionality and content of our platform
  • Legal compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes
  • Fraud prevention: To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activity
  • Marketing: To send you relevant offers and updates, subject to your opt-in or opt-out preferences

We do not use your financial or personal data for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects without human oversight.

4. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Funding partners: When you submit an inquiry, your information is shared with the funders or networks that may be able to fulfill your request. By submitting an inquiry, you expressly consent to this sharing.
  • Service providers: We engage trusted third-party vendors (e.g., hosting, analytics, email services, identity verification) who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Compare Your Loans, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to operate and improve our site. These include:

  • Essential cookies: Necessary for site functionality (cannot be disabled)
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use our site (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Advertising cookies: Used to deliver relevant ads and track campaign performance
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings and choices

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or our cookie consent tool. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Typically:

  • Inquiry and application data: up to 7 years (to comply with financial recordkeeping obligations)
  • Marketing preference data: until you opt out, then 2 years
  • Analytics data: up to 26 months in aggregated or pseudonymized form

When data is no longer required, we securely delete or anonymize it.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Opt-out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time via the unsubscribe link in emails or by contacting us
  • Do Not Track: We honor browser-level Do Not Track signals where technically feasible

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the details in Section 14. Saved calculator results and account deletion are covered in Section 13.

8. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):

  • The right to know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell
  • The right to delete personal information we have collected about you
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information
  • The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your CCPA rights

To submit a verifiable consumer request, contact us using the information in Section 14. We will respond within 45 days. You may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. If this changes, we will update this policy and provide an opt-out mechanism on our homepage.

9. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use strong, unique passwords and to report any suspected unauthorized access to your account immediately.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will promptly delete it. If you believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.

11. Third-Party Links

Our site may contain links to third-party websites, funders, or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Where required by law, we will provide more prominent notice or seek your consent. Your continued use of our site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

13. Optional Accounts and Saved Calculator Results

Our calculators are free to use without an account. Creating an account is entirely optional and is only needed if you choose to save a result so you can return to it later.

Account information we collect:

  • Your email address, used to sign you in and to identify your saved results
  • Your name, if you provide it
  • Sign-in activity needed to keep your account secure (for example, session and verification records)

Calculator information that may be saved:

  • Figures you entered, such as financing amount, total payback, factor rate, payment amount, term, frequency and any fees
  • Figures calculated or estimated from what you entered, such as estimated financing cost and estimated APR
  • The assumptions applied, the tool used, the name you give the result and the date it was saved
  • For side-by-side comparisons, the same details for each offer you entered (for example, Offer A and Offer B)

Saved calculator results are stored against your account and are therefore personal information — they are not anonymous. Nothing is saved unless you press a save button, and a saved result is only ever visible to you (and to our staff where necessary to support or secure the service).

Why we store it:

  • So you can reopen, rename, duplicate, edit and compare your own calculations
  • So you don't have to re-type figures you already entered if you later request financing options
  • To provide support and to keep records of changes you make to your own saved results

We do not use your saved calculator results to market to you, and we do not sell them.

Sharing — what happens with "Compare My Options":

Saving a result never sends it to anyone. Your saved figures are only shared when you separately complete the "Compare My Options" financing request and confirm, on that form, which company or companies you want to hear from — currently Tiger Capital Funding and/or Low Cost Capital. When you submit that request, the contact, business and qualification details you entered, together with the financing figures carried into the form, are shared with the companies you selected so they can contact you about potential financing. Companies you did not select receive nothing. Creating an account, signing in or saving a result is not a financing request and does not share anything with either company.

Deleting a saved result:

Sign in and open My Saved Results, choose the result and select Delete. Deleting one result does not affect your other saved results and does not delete your account. If you have already submitted a financing request, deleting a saved result does not withdraw that request — contact the company you selected, or us, to do that.

Deleting your account:

You can ask us to close your account and delete your saved results at any time by emailing privacy@compareyourloans.com from the address on the account. We will verify the request and delete your account and saved calculator results, except where we are legally required to retain certain inquiry records (see Section 6 on retention).
