Important: Please Read Before Using This Site
Compare Your Loans is an offer comparison and lead generation platform, not a lender, bank, or financial broker. This page contains all required regulatory disclosures about how our service works, how we are compensated, and your rights as a consumer.
We Are Not a Lender
Compare Your Loans does not make loans, extend credit, or make lending decisions. We do not determine whether you qualify for funding, nor do we set interest rates, amounts, fees, or repayment terms.
Our role is limited to collecting information you provide and presenting it to one or more third-party funding companies in our partner network. Any offer you receive is issued solely by the applicable funder, and any agreement you enter into is a contract between you and that funder — not with Compare Your Loans.
We are not required to hold a lending license in connection with our comparison and referral activities. However, all funders in our network are required to hold all licenses necessary to operate in your state.
How We Are Compensated
Compare Your Loans earns revenue through referral fees, lead generation fees, or advertising compensation paid by funders and financial institutions in our partner network. This means:
- We may receive a fee when you are connected with a funder, regardless of whether you accept an offer
- We may receive a fee when you successfully obtain funding through our platform
- Funders who pay higher fees may be featured more prominently in our comparison results
- Not all funders operating in the market are included in our comparison results
This compensation may affect the selection, order, and prominence of products displayed on our site. We strive to present information objectively and in your best interest, but our financial relationships with funders may create a potential conflict of interest that you should be aware of.
Rate & APR Disclosures
Under the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), lenders are required to disclose the Annual Percentage Rate (APR), total cost of credit, and all fees before you sign an agreement. All funders in our network are required to comply with TILA. However, the following important points apply to rates displayed on our platform:
- Rates shown are representative estimates and are subject to change without notice
- Your actual rate will depend on your credit profile, income, debt-to-income ratio, amount, and other factors assessed by the funder
- Advertised rates typically represent the lowest rates available and may only be available to the most creditworthy applicants
- Submitting an application may result in a hard credit inquiry that affects your credit score
Representative APR Example
The following example is illustrative only and does not represent a specific offer:
Amount: $10,000 | Term: 36 months | APR: 14.99%
Monthly Payment: ~$346.65 | Total Repaid: ~$12,479.40 | Total Interest: ~$2,479.40
Rates range from approximately 5.99% APR to 35.99% APR. Your rate will vary.
| Type | Typical APR Range | Typical Terms |
|---|---|---|
| Personal | 5.99% – 35.99% | 12 – 84 months |
| Debt Consolidation | 6.99% – 29.99% | 24 – 84 months |
| Home Improvement | 5.99% – 24.99% | 24 – 120 months |
| Auto | 3.99% – 24.99% | 24 – 84 months |
Rates are illustrative and subject to change. Not an offer of credit.
Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) Disclosure
Compare Your Loans and its funding partners operate in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You should be aware that:
- Soft credit pulls: Initial rate-matching may involve a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your credit score and is not visible to other lenders
- Hard credit pulls: If you proceed with a full application with a funder, they may perform a hard inquiry on your credit report, which will be visible to other lenders and may temporarily affect your credit score
- Your rights: You have the right to obtain a free copy of your credit report annually at annualcreditreport.com and to dispute inaccurate information with the credit bureaus
- Adverse action: If you are denied credit, the funder is required to provide you with an adverse action notice explaining the reason for denial
Equal Credit Opportunity & Fair Lending
All funders in our network are required to comply with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and the Fair Housing Act, which prohibit discrimination in credit decisions on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age, familial status, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Compare Your Loans is committed to fair and non-discriminatory access to our comparison services. If you believe you have been subject to discriminatory treatment by a funder in our network, you may file a complaint with:
- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB): consumerfinance.gov/complaint
- The Federal Trade Commission (FTC): reportfraud.ftc.gov
- Your state Attorney General's office
State Licensing & Availability
Funding products and the availability of funders vary by state. Not all products are available in all states. Funders are required to hold licenses in the states where they operate, and they are solely responsible for compliance with applicable state laws, including usury limits, fee restrictions, and consumer protection regulations.
Compare Your Loans operates as an information service and does not act as a licensed broker or lender in any state. We make no representations about the legality of any particular product in your state. You should verify the legality of any product with the applicable funder and your state's financial regulatory authority before proceeding.
Residents of the following states may have additional restrictions or protections: California, New York, New Jersey, Vermont, West Virginia, and certain other states have stricter consumer lending regulations. Users in these states should review funder disclosures carefully.

By submitting an inquiry through our platform, you expressly consent to receive communications from Compare Your Loans and our funding partners, including:
- Phone calls (including autodialed or prerecorded calls) to the number you provide
- SMS/text messages

This consent applies even if your number is listed on a federal or state Do Not Call registry. This consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Standard message and data rates may apply to text messages.
